Life of flowers
(2010 - 2019)A series of abstract paintings inspired by flowers and plants and the molecular models and chemical processes involved in their growth.
Irish dance
(2010 - 2017)Irish dancing concentrates on a calm upper body but vigorous leg and footwork. The costumes are very colourful. My paintings have tended to become more abstract as I continue new works in this theme.
Abstract
(2009 - 2013)Abstract art inspired by a variety of themes including nature and dance. The first seven listed works are in a series entitled 'Móberg', where the inspiration comes from the violent interactions between ice and fire in Icelandic sub-glacial volcanic eruptions.
Móberg
(2013)These paintings are inspired by Icelandic subglacial and marine volcanic eruptions and the peculiar rock formations and not least the molecular building blocks within them. The result is a series of abstract works which reflect all of these elements.
Sicilian puppets
(2009 - 2019)A series of paintings done as a result of several visits to Sicily. The style is perhaps partly cubist.
Landscape
(2009 - 2016)My landscape paintings have been developing over the past couple of years towards slightly surreal works or works where certain aspects are exaggerated to the point of banality to create a strong impression.
Beach life
(2009 - 2010)A series of paintings depicting a largely imaginary fun-filled life at the beach anywhere. Many depict windsurfing and dogs both of which have been an important part of my life.
Shores of memory (Illustrative-abstract)
(2008 - 2011)Each work in this group tries to express my memories from various periods or even moments in my life, chosen in a more or less random way.
